Most of us, at some point in our lives, will have times when we are not able to earn our own living, or need additional financial support; perhaps because we are ill, or cannot get a job, or are on a low income, or are eligible to retire. Some may have additional day-to-day expenses; for example, due to particular circumstances, such as care responsibilities, or because they have disability needs.

Many clients visit the bureau with benefits issues. In fact, this is one of the largest areas of work for the CAB Service.

As a bureau we can:-

  • help you to work out your entitlement to benefits
  • provide benefit checks and ‘better off’ calculations
  • help you to fill in the appropriate forms
  • help you to write review and appeal letters
  • help you if you have to pay back overpayments
