Proposed Re-establishment of a GP Branch Surgery – 50 Main Street, Caldercruix

NHS Lanarkshire has received an application from Dr Ailish Glen, Centenary Surgery, Coatbridge, seeking approval to re-establish a GP branch surgery at 50 Main Street, Caldercruix. The proposal would provide local GP appointment capacity from premises previously used as a GP branch surgery. The application raises a range of issues relating to patient access, service delivery, healthcare integration, workforce sustainability and estate planning.

Before reaching a final decision, NHS Lanarkshire is undertaking a further public engagement exercise to gather additional evidence and independent views from stakeholders and the local community. This will help inform NHS Lanarkshire's assessment of whether the proposal represents an appropriate, sustainable and value-for-money development of primary care services.

The consultation is being undertaken via Survey Monkey and is accessible via NHS Lanarkshire website.

Responses received will be incorporated into a Consultation Analysis Report which will be considered as part of the final decision-making process. The consultation is important anyone intending to respond should do so no later than 12 August 2026. Please take time to participate. Please note that comments received after this date cannot be accepted.
