Membership of Airdrie CAB

Airdrie Citizens Advice Bureau is encouraging local people to become members of the charity.
Membership is free, and open to individuals (aged 18 or over) who either live or work in Airdrie. It is also available to representatives from local organisations. Members are entitled to receive a copy of the annual report and notice of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and to vote at such meetings.
All applications for membership must be made to the registered office of Airdrie Citizens Advice Bureau using the appropriate application form and must be approved by the board of directors. The names of members will be entered into a register of members.
All applicants must meet the relevant membership conditions. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate they support the twin aims of the Citizens Advice network which are:
“to ensure that individuals do not suffer through ignorance of their rights and responsibilities of the services available; or through an inability to express their needs.
and equally
“to exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally.”
Applicants are notified of the decision on their application as soon as possible following the board meeting at which their application was discussed. On acceptance, applicants receive a further pack of information, which will include a copy of the memorandum and articles of association and more information about the bureau’s trustees.
