Scottish Adult DLA
Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for adults, which is paid by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), is being replaced by Scottish Adult Disability Living Allowance (Scottish Adult DLA) in Scotland.
Anyone who is still getting Disability Living Allowance for adults from the DWP and has not received a letter to say their benefit is transferring to Scottish Adult DLA should get in touch with Social Secuirty Scotland.
People should continue to report any change of circumstances to the DWP until their benefit has fully transferred to Social Security Scotland. They will send a letter to clients telling them when their transfer has been completed.
All transfers to Scottish Adult DLA should be complete by the end of the year. Everyone will continue to receive their payments in the right amount and there will be no gap in entitlement. Some clients may receive their payment one working day later than when they were paid DLA for adults. Social Secuirty Scotland will write to clients in advance to let them know if this is the case.
