When we purchase goods, we are automatically given consumer rights by law.  Products and services that we buy must be safe, of adequate quality and function as described.

When there are problems with bought goods or services, consumers can approach Citizens Advice for assistance.  The Citizens Advice Consumer Service is a one-stop shop for consumer advice by phone, email, online or face to face.

We have a strong history of supporting consumers.  We combine evidence from our frontline advice services with research and market insight to campaign for change. So when we speak out about something, it’s because it matters to people. This gives consumers a stronger voice – and gives us and our bureau network more evidence and first-hand evidence to change things for the better.
